2019 Summer NEWS

Summer Dance

Our 2019-2020 Dance Year begins July 6th! Be sure to check the class schedule for any changes in your class days/times.

We can not express how important it is to continue your dance training through the Summer. Summers at our studio are especially important! Modern, Jazz, and Hip-Hop students are preparing for our Halloween Dance Concert and attendance is vital in order to learn choreography. Our Tap Dance students will also be working hard on technique pushing their skills and will begin their choreography for the"The Magic Toy Shop Tea", starting in August. Ballet classes are hard at work pushing and progressing their technique. Ballet classes will also be setting their new syllabus for exams that will take place next Spring. Along with setting the new Syllabus work and progressing as artist and technicians, we are making sure we are prepared for the upcoming choreography and technique needed for the Nutcracker season that begin the first week of September. And don't forget we have Summer Dance Intensives to even further your skills. Phew! We have a busy Summer!

Reminder: we encourage you to take classes below your current classes as make-ups and for added work on your technique anytime we are not in show season! This is of no cost to you and Summer is a great time to take advantage of this awesome bonus and get an extra boost in your technique.

As we begin a new year, it is a great time to get back to our good dance habits that may have been lost during the busy recital/producation season.  Here are some ways to get back to being the best dancer:

  • Be on time (that means 15 mins early to warm-up for class)

  • Dress for success (Be sure to know what your class required attire is and follow it)

  • Practice outside of class for great success

  • Drink plenty of water and eat healthy

  • Write in your dance journals

A Few Reminders:

  • Please remember to always check-in in the office before attending classes

  • Pay very close attention to the dancers information board - located in the lobby, warm-up areas both upstairs and down

  • Please use the dressing room for changing and hang up or put your dance bag in cubby.
